Toast To Women’s History Month With These Incredible Events Around NYC

“Who runs the world? Girls!” March is National Women’s History Month so why not take that special woman (who could also be yourself) out for an experience she’ll never forget.

1) Shine Bright at Pink Pier

March is the last month you’ll be able to experience the pinkest extravaganza in NYC. Aptly named Pink Pier, bask in your feminine energy as you enjoy blushy bubbly drinks and eat pink food. The experience is perfect for all ages and go here to find out some reasons we loved this experience. Happy Hour also takes place from Monday-Fridays and draft beers are $6, select wines are $8 and cocktails are $10! Pink Pier is located at 78 South Street (Pier 15).

2) The New York Historical Society + Women’s Work Exhibition

Explore American art, sculpture, drawings, and textiles at The New York Historical Society Museum & Library, located at 170 Central Park West. There is also a powerful exhibit at the Center for Women’s History, which offers an inspiring look at the power of women in society’s history. Throughout March there are many talks featuring influential female artists, curators and more!

Don’t miss learning about the accomplishments and challenges of women at this historical exhibit.

3) Concerts and Culture at Patrick’s Place

Throughout the month of March, Harlem’s Patrick’s Place will be home to a series of Women’s History Month events. On March 9th, see Harlem’s own Sista Zock‘s sonic show along with culinary offerings to taste Jamaican cuisine. Poet and singer Karen Maynard will be performing on March 16th and powerhouse vocalist Grace Young will hit the stage on March 23rd! Round out the month with Magano & Joanne Jamaican Jazzmatazz which combines Jamaican rhythms and jazz together to create their own sound!

4)Sonic Sundays at Gaia Nomaya in Brooklyn

Take yourself and/or the special woman in your life to GAIA Nomaya in Flatbush Brooklyn for some relaxation and healing. Sonic Sanctuary Sundays is a wellness experience where music and ancient healing techniques create a tranquil space to unwind. 5) Catch a Candlelight Show: Beyonce vs. Taylor Swift

On March 7th you’ll have to choose between seeing a tribute show featuring classical versions of hits from either Beyonce or Taylor Swift. If you decide on the Candlelight Spring: A Tribute to Beyonce show then you’ll hear classic renditions of tracks such as “Drunk In Love,” “Hold Up,” and Destiny’s Child classics, “Survivor” and “Say My Name” just to name a few. The Taylor Swift Candlelight show features songs such as “Love Story,” “Blank Space,” “Anti-Hero,” “Lover” and more.

6) Get in tune with nature (and fashion) at this year’s Orchid Show

This year’s annual Orchid Show transforms the New York Botanical Garden’s Enid A. Haupt Conservatory into a floral oasis covered in fascinating delicate, show-stopping flowers and installations. This year’s theme is titled, “Florals in Fashion,” and features visionary designers that bring florals, nature conservation and fashion together! The bold and vibrant installations will create an entirely new floral experience that you absolutely must see.

7) Make Time For Teatime at MarieBelle

The tea for two experience takes place in SoHo at 484 Broome Street. Guests get a mimosa each and a choice of either a pot of coffee or tea for their beverages! For bites, enjoy a watermelon salad, mini pastries and macarons, traditional scones with jams and Devonshire clotted cream. For savory eats, there are assorted finger sandwiches. The Immigrant Food Tour takes place in the Lower East Side, Chinatown, Little Italy. Enjoy the local spots that have made a name for their neighborhood! The meet up spot is perfect, at Essex Market (88 Essex Street).

The Culture Food Tour showcases small food businesses owned and operated by women and immigrants. One of the businesses showcased is Nadas Empanadas which stems on the backbone of business woman Olga Santos who immigrated here from Colombia.

Eat, learn and go on these food adventures showcasing the hustle and culture of immigrant females  this Women’s History month!

9) See female leads on the big screen in these new films

If the woman in your life is a movie buff, get a good deal  on an AMC movie ticket with the Black Ticket for any 2D experience. Just in time for March there are some incredible films with lead actresses! Watch Zendaya slay “Dune: Part Two”.

Lisa Frankentein” is a horror comedy which features actress Kathryn Newton as the lead and the sci-fi action film “Madame Web” starring Dakota Johnson are both films and characters perfect for commemorating Women’s History Month!
