This massive Coney Island winter holiday extravaganza reopens this week
Lest you think Luna Park at Coney Island to solely be a summer time destination, think again: the beloved area will once again transform into winter-time extravaganza Frost Fest.
Set to debut for the season year in a row this Saturday, November 23, the festival will again be home to a 35-foot tree sure to get you into the holiday spirit, plus Santa’s Wonderland, where attendees will get to snap photos with Santa and shop for food, drinks and goods at the on-site holiday market, and a fun ice skating rink.
Speaking of fare: some standout items include fresh cups of apple sider from Luna’s Apple Orchard, warm drinks from Coney’s Cocoa Corner and delectable bits from the Campfire Treats section of the park.
New in 2024 is the Candy Cane Chute rapid slide that you are sure to want to ride down endlessly.
Don’t forget that the iconic Coney Island Cyclone will also be open during select days this season, so make sure to save some time to experience the thrilling ride as well.
“What better place than Luna Park to create those everlasting holiday memories?,” said Alessandro Zamperla, President and CEO of Central Amusement International Inc., the organization behind the destination, in an official statement. “By establishing a new Coney Island tradition, we have created an enchanting backdrop that enhances the charm of our iconic amusement attractions.”
Frost Fest will take over Coney Island through January 1, 2025 on select weekdays and holidays, plus Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Read more about the offerings right here.
