The Wild Wild West Has Touched Down In Williamsburg–And Yes, There’s A Mechanical Bull
Regardless whether it actually is or isn’t your first rodeo, you’re in for a rowdy time at Desert 5 Spot New York, the newest (and perhaps wildest) country music bar, restaurant, and live entertainment venue to touch down in NYC, bringing the wild wild west straight to Williamsburg.
The space is inspired by the soul of Cosmic Americana, 1970s Palm Springs, and the rustic allure of Pioneertown, which is to say it’s a space where New Yorkers can come and have unadulterated fun with their friends…all while practicing their two step, of course!
In other words, Desert 5 Spot New York brings a true honky-tonk atmosphere straight to NYC.
The interiors were inspired by designer Bernadette Blanc’s road trips through California, Arizona, Montana, New Mexico, and Texas. So, naturally, it’s essentially a cowboy or cowgirl’s haven, what with its thrifted and vintage furnishings, iconic cowboy boot disco balls, saloon-style doors, barrel tables, and cowhide rugs.
There’s even a fake storefront resembling a Pioneertown motel, which immediately transports visitors into the Mojave Desert as soon as they step foot into the space, and an area near the stage, coined “Dolly’s Corner,” complete with rhinestone-studded pink suede wallpaper and rare photographs of the country icon.
Oh, and we cannot forget the vintage Chevy-truck-turned DJ booth–where DJs will spin country hits along the likes of Alan Jackson, Shania Twain, and Dolly Parton–and, yes, even a mechanical bull!
A rotating calendar of weekly programming will bring fun entertainment to guests such as live musical performances from emerging country artists, line dancing and two stepping classes, cowboy karaoke, tarot card reading, a Vintage Trading Post, and much more.
An impressive lineup of country and rock n’ roll talents have already graced the stage at Desert 5 Spot in L.A., including Stagecoach headliner Kane Brown, Dasha, Orville Peck, Midland, Green Day, Noah Cyrus, and rising star Drake Milligan, among others.
Sticking to its free spirit and retro-chic aesthetic, the menu features LA-approved tacos along with a world class cocktail menu with drinks sporting country-esque names, such as the Jolene made with Tequila Blanco, watermelon, strawberry puree, agave, and lime, and the Cowboy Colada made with Tequila Blanco, blue curacao, luxardo maraschino, coconut, pineapple, lime.
A wide selection of local and independent spirits and beers compliment the cocktails.
Ten Five Hospitality Managing Partner Dan Daley stated:
Desert 5 Spot was born out of our love for country music and a desire to create a space where cell phones and Instagram take a back seat to allow people to just drink and have unadulterated fun with their friends…we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring Desert 5 to the city we still call home.

Oh, and be sure to don your best western threads, whether that means slipping into your best tasseled leather jacket or stepping into your dustiest pair of cowboy boots.
