The First Direct Flight From NYC’s JFK To Tokyo Launches This Summer
Forget European summer—this year’s go-to continent is Asia! Travel on the first direct route from NYC’s JFK to Tokyo’s HND with American Airlines, the first U.S. carrier to offer this nonstop flight.
Routes will takeoff daily starting on June 28th, but are now available for purchase online and through the American Airlines mobile app.
American Airlines already offers three daily nonstop flights from the U.S. to Tokyo’s HND, with one flight departing Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and two daily flights leaving from Los Angeles (LAX). NYC’s JFK will be the fourth available flight for passengers across the nation looking to fly direct to Tokyo. The flight duration will take a little over 14 hours to get from NYC to Tokyo.
“American looks forward to launching flights between JFK and HND this summer,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning. “This new service will complement flights offered by our joint business partner, Japan Airlines, giving more ways for our customers travel between the U.S. and Japan.”
Travelers looking to visit cities outside of Tokyo will have access to roundtrip connections to over 30 Japanese and East Asian cities with American Airlines’ joint business partner, Japan Airlines. This includes connections to Osaka, Sapporo and Fukuoka. In total, there will be 17 available flights running between the U.S. and Japan via American Airlines and Japan Airlines this summer.
So what are you waiting for? It’s time to cross off visiting sites like Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and Senso-ji Temple from your bucket list and get ready to try the best Japanese food you’ve ever tasted!
