The Brooklyn Tower, The Borough’s First Supertall Building, Is Nearly Complete

From swaying in 60mph wind to housing the western hemisphere’s highest basketball court, The Brooklyn Tower, the borough’s first supertall, has already made a name for itself–before construction has even finished–but now, The Brooklyn Tower is nearly complete.

According to Brownstoner, facade installation is wrapping up on the building, which stands at 93 stories and is over 1,000 feet tall, making it the borough’s first building whose height reaches four digits.

The Brooklyn Tower houses 150 condominiums and 400 residences along with almost 100,000 square feet of retail at its base and 120,000 square feet of lifestyle amenities. It’s even home to the Western Hemisphere’s highest basketball court, dog run, and outdoor playground.

Though Brownstoner reports that this past Tuesday, February 6th, workers were busy in the section of the base fronting Fleet Street which is still-under construction, the stretch along Flatbush Avenue Extension and Dekalb appears finished and some residents have already moved in.

The Brooklyn Tower is Brooklyn’s first supertall building, and it definitely comes with a hefty price tag.

Pricing for the building’s condominiums ranges from approximately $965,000 for studio residences to approximately $8 million for four-bedrooms, and rentals range from studios to three bedrooms, starting at $3,411 for studios, $4,371 for one bedrooms, and $6,085 for two bedrooms.

Back in March of last year, though, the tower opened a housing lottery for units below their market rate price, giving prospective residents a chance to live in the tower for a fraction of the cost.

Though move-ins started last year, there are still a few condos left for sale.

The Brooklyn Tower is located at 55 Fleet Street, on the north side of DeKalb Avenue near Flatbush Avenue.
