NYC is home to some pretty great beaches, but when it comes to the city’s relentless sweltering heat, we’re always open to welcome one more! And, well, we’re in luck!
This July, Seaport is bringing the beach to us with the return of Seaport Beach Fest.
For three days only New Yorkers are invited to grab their sunscreen and have all the fun in the sun, from digging their toes in the sand to enjoying stunning waterfront views as a pop-up beach takes over the Seaport Square!
The fest will be complete with refreshing drinks and tasty bites from food trucks all weekend long.
Plus, live performances and music from DJs–such as DJ MOMA–will keep the party going all weekend long, spinning a blend of hip-hop, afrobeats, soul, R&B, and underground dance grooves, along with classic jams, rare gems, and the latest dance floor hits.
Weekend highlights include:
Friday, July 28
Festivities will kick off with LIVE DJ sets curated by Maachew Bentley. Headliners DJ MOMA and Walshy Fire will then take over (2 p.m. – 7 p.m.)
Saturday, July 29
Start your morning with Lyons Den Power Yoga on the Heineken Riverdeck (10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.). Music curated by Deep Root Records, featuring Mia Moretti, Bina, and Jackal Jyve will then go on from 2 p.m. through 10 p.m.
Sunday, July 30
Keep the party going as bands take the stage from 1 p.m. – 5:45 p.m., followed by unforgettable performances from country artists Dalton & The Sheriffs and Wilson Springs Hotel.
The best part–since the beach is popping up at the Seaport Square you won’t have to worry about trekking for what seems like an eternity across the hot sand to stake out a good spot to lay out your towel!
The party that is Seaport Beach Fest goes down the weekend of July 28-30 at the Seaport Square (89 South Street, between Piers 16 & 17). Find the full lineup of events here.
So grab your sunscreen and put on your shades and we’ll see you at the beach!

Food in New York exhibition at Museum of the City of New York, 104th Street and Fifth Avenue.
Food is a powerful social network binding New Yorkers to each other and with countless others across the globe. The city’s raucous restaurant scene; its ubiquitous street food; the current activist efforts to source food locally; the world’s largest food market in Hunts Point; and the artists, thinkers, and designers who are imagining new sustainable ways to relate to food, will all be part of Food in New York: Bigger Than the Plate. The exhibition will examine the challenging nodes and networks of the city’s food systems. Anchored around issues of sustainability, labor justice, and equitable access to food, the show will explore the ways in which artists and designers are developing solutions to these global and local challenges. Through September, 2023. Online tickets at the MCNY site for Wednesday-Sunday:LINK
