NYC Ferry Is Making Major Improvements To The Rockaway Ferry Service This Summer

Last July, NYC Ferry introduced the “Rockaway Rocket,” an express ferry service pilot from the Wall St. Terminal in Lower Manhattan straight to the Rockaways, and this summer season they’re launching improvements to the service.

Starting July 1st, NYC Ferry riders will be able to reserve a spot on any weekend Rockaway trips, one of NYC’s best beach destinations, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and back from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Reserved tickets cost $10 and can be purchased up to 2 weeks before the date of each departure.

NYC Ferry will also sail out an extra ferry, providing New Yorkers with 25% more capacity on weekends and holidays. The schedule can be found here.

As for the Rockaway Rocket, it’s set to return this August for a limited time from August 12th through Labor Day for $10, this year departing from Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6 (Atlantic Avenue).

Final schedule details will be announced in the coming weeks.

And though parts of Rockaway Beach will be closed again this summer, there’s still tons to eat, see, and do there!
