Multiple reports indicate that NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell is stepping down. She has been on the job since 2022.
Sewell made history as the first woman to serve in the position.
Prior to her appointment as NYPD Commissioner by Mayor Eric Adams, Chief of Detectives of the Nassau County Police Department.
