NYC’s Longest Running Reggae Party Is Taking It Outdoors For The First Time Ever

Summer is about getting outdoors and dancing the night away til the sun comes up, and NYC’s ‘Reggae Retro’ Dance Party is making that possible!

Founded in 2001, Ishka Designs ‘Reggae Retro’ Dance Party is the longest running reggae party in NYC, but they’ve never taken the party outdoors–until now!

Reggae Retro is hosted in select venues around Brooklyn on the first Saturday of each month, celebrating the infectious rhythms of reggae music through the years.  The party has become an integral part of the vibrant NYC music scene and has cemented itself as a cultural phenomenon showcasing contribution of Caribbean music and culture to the city.

And this time, they’re inviting New Yorkers to party al fresco!

Unlike their usual late night indoor flex, the party will take it outdoors at 7 p.m. with resident DJs prepared to bring the energy like never before. Spinning classics from the early ‘70s through the early aughts, Reggae Retro will be lyrically weaving the history of reggae music for all music lovers.

The party will take over Industry City’s Courtyard 1/2 on Saturday, August 5 from 7 p.m. til 2 a.m. Food and drinks will also be available.

So get ready to dance your feet off and be transported back to the islands at the party of the summer. More information can be found here.
