ICYMI, NYC Has Another Adorable Halloween Dog Parade

We wouldn’t dream of ringing in spooky season without our canine companions, so just point us to a Halloween dog parade and we’re there.

While the iconic Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade has become a tradition, it’s not the only event of its kind in our fantastic metropolis, fortunately for us.

New York Halloween Dog Parade & Costume Competition is its uptown counterpart that’s equally festive and delightful. If you haven’t added it to your October calendar, now is the time to do so. (And of course, visit a local Spirit Halloween to get the creative juices going.)

New York Dog Parade, the premier dog parade organization and registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, joined forces with Camp Canine’s Trick-or-Treat night and the Columbus Avenue BID to host a Halloween celebration on Sunday, October 27th, and we’re incredibly excited at the canine cuteness that awaits. Not only will our furry friends be able to show off their looks on Columbus Ave. between 73rd and 74th Streets, but they’ll be able to, with the help of their humans, utilize Camp Canine’s dog-friendly trick-or-treat map, which coincides with Open Streets between 67th and 77th Streets.

Truthfully, it sounds like our four-legged friends’ Halloween plans rival our own, and we’re pretty impressed. The event is free but registration is required for the costume competition. You can visit New York Dog Parade online to register and learn more. May the best pup — a.k.a. all of them — win.

Sunday, October 27th

Parade from 4-6pm, competition from 6-7pm

Columbus Ave between 73rd & 74th Streets
