Hot Dog Legend, Papaya King, Reopens In New UES Location

It’s been a long and trying journey for hot dog dynasty, Papaya King, after first facing permanent closure in 2023 and then a failed attempt to relocate this year. However, hot dog and fruit juice combo-loving New Yorkers can rejoice as Papaya King has finally got their footing, reopening at an all new location on the Upper East Side.

According to Pix11, the new Papaya King is near the Baked by Melissa on 206 East 86th Street. Apparently the new spot opened up this past Saturday, bringing in quite a crowd of eager eaters who have waited over a year for this moment.

From photos shared to X, the UES spot shows off its signature yellow with a new awning promising a hot dog haven that awaits inside.

The notorious establishment first opened back in 1932. It’s responsible for all the other replicates you might be familiar with like Gray’s Papaya, Chelsea Papaya, Papaya Place and more.
