Fall Foliage Cruises Near NYC To Hop Aboard This Autumn

If you’re craving more than your annual apple picking excursion, why not head out to sea for a fall foliage cruise?

Nothing compares to New York’s waterfront scenery, especially when the leaves begin to change. (Speaking of which, we just learned when fall foliage will peak in NYC.)

If you’re itching to get out of town for a few hours and want to revel in Mother Nature’s autumnal glory, the Hudson River is home to plenty of picturesque routes that will leave you feeling cozy in no time.

1. Seastreak Cruises

You’ll be green with envy if you miss the red, gold, and orange leaves along Seastreak’s Fall Foliage Cruises to destinations like Cold Spring, New York and Milton, New York. Tours, which leave from NYC and New Jersey, include a narrated guide to the surroundings.

We’re particularly enamored with the Seastreak Fall Foliage Brunch Cruise up the Hudson River. You can munch on a buffet of danishes, bagels, and fruit, to name a few bites, as scenes from Hastings-on-the-Hudson all the way up to West Point pass you by. Tickets are $139 per person and the tour runs on Saturdays and Sundays from October 6 to November 3.

2. Circle Line Cruises

Bet you didn’t think any Oktoberfest celebrations would take place on the water, right? Circle Line Cruises will make the most of the seasonal event and throw in a gorgeous boat ride to boot. Hop on the four-hour long Hudson River Fall Foliage Cruise from Pier 83 in Midtown for a day filled with live music, German-themed bites, and beautiful surroundings. Cheers to an afternoon outdoors with an Oktoberfest beer. Tickets start at $59, and the event will only take place on October 19 and 20.

Should you really want to pack a punch, Circle Line also offers an annual eight-hour Bear Mountain Cruise that includes all of the same events — plus a hike. It’s offered multiple times throughout the season, so fear not. If you’re keen on splitting up a cruise and those strenuous steps up a mountain, plan your next outdoor adventure with our favorite stunning hiking trails near NYC.

3. Classic Harbor Line Cruises

Step outside of the city and back in time when you board Classic Harbor Line’s 1920s-style Manhattan I and Manhattan II. The Cruise Line offers fall foliage tours with brunch or lunch, both of which include complimentary cocktails and a narrated guide of the environment. The cruises run on Saturdays and Sundays from October 12 to November 10. Tickets range from $124-$142.

Once you dock, our fall NYC bucket list will give you the heads up on all of the can’t-miss seasonal activities on land.
