Central Park’s Beloved Bald Eagle, ‘Rover,’ Spotted Doing Some NYC Sightseeing

Central Park is home to a plethora of famous birds, from the Mandarin Duck to Flaco the Owl, but most recently spotted again, Rover the bald eagle!

Rover has been flying around NYC for some years now. Bird watchers can identify him by the R-7 metal tag on his ankle. Though he typically tends to hang around Central Park’s Reservoir, many caught him sightseeing around the city this past week. Rover was pictured soaring adjacent to Edge.

Additionally, bird watchers caught him back at the Reservoir, preying on the gulls.

Want to try and get a glimpse of Rover for yourself? According to Manhattan Bird Alert, as long as there’s ice, he may keep coming to visit!
