You can get a 12-drink cocktail tower at this Brooklyn steakhouse

You can get a 12-drink cocktail tower at this Brooklyn steakhouse

Few things are as festive as gathering a group of pals to gab over a large-format cocktail, whether it’s a big ol’ bowl of rum punch, an oversized pitcher of vodka-splashed lemonade or a big-batch jug of party sangria. And now at the Brooklyn Chop House—a steakhouse chainlet with locations in Times Square and the Financial District—you and your best boozehound pals can experience a new shareable creation called “The Brooklyn Tree House.”

RECOMMENDED: The 50 best bars in NYC right now serve classic cocktails, craft beer and expert wine selections

But this “tree house” is less lumber and more liquor: the head-turning cocktail tower allows bargoers to select three different cocktails, frozen or mixed, for their own custom 12-cocktail display. Among the drink options are a Lemon Drop, a Lychee Martini, a Perfect Margarita, a Spicy Watermelon Cooler, a Cucumber Mint Cooper, a Sour Diesel (D’USSÉ VSOP Cognac, fresh lemon juice, peach schnapps, grapefruit juice and agave syrup) or one flavor of frosé (lychee, peach, strawberry-watermelon).

And, along with being a party-starting drink order, since most of the cocktails on the restaurant’s bar menu are individually priced between $17 and $20 a pop, $95 for a twelve-drink tower is a steal (and is further proof that it is still very much possible to get a quality cocktail for $10 and under in New York City). Plus, unlike those one-drink-and-done punch bowls or party jugs, the novelty item caters to a variety of preferences and allows everyone to order whatever individual cocktail will best whet their whistle.

Check out “The Brooklyn Tree House” from Brooklyn Chop House below and then corral your cocktail-loving friends to try out one for yourselves. Drink responsibly!

The First Flamingo In Decades To Be Seen In New York Was Just Spotted On LI

Last weekend, those relaxing in the Hamptons were privy to a very rare Flamingo sighting at Georgica Pond in East Hampton. American Flamingos usually tend to inhabit regions of Florida, so a Flamingo sighting in New York was definitely not expected to be on anyone’s 2024 bingo card.

Though it’s not a typical bird one would see in New York State, previous records show former flamingo sightings in decades past. According to an old Long Island Advance, New York State has had a total of four recorded flamingo sightings at the time the piece was published in 1978.

Not long after the most recent New York sighting, a flamingo was spotted hanging around Cape Cod, bringing experts to believe it was the same exact bird from before. So why did an American Flamingo end up in New York and make its way to Cape Cod? The answer is still unknown. Currently, experts can’t yet ascertain whether the bird is wild or not. If in the case it is wild, the most likely scenario is that is was displaced by a hurricane

“The thinking is it’s just some bird that was displaced by the hurricane back then that doesn’t know where it lives anymore,” shared Mark Faherty, science coordinator for Mass Audubon Cape Cod. The Massachusetts Avian Records Committee is now responsible for determining whether the bird is indeed wild or an escaped captive. If found to be wild, this would be the first American Flamingo to visit Massachusetts by itself.

Stay tuned with more updates to come.
