[SPOILER ALERT] Here Are Things in Squid Game Season 2 That You Can Find At The Experience In Midtown
[SPOILER ALERT] If you’re like us, you’ve binged the (very short) second season of Squid Game! While we love the show, Squid Game: The Experience brings the feeling of the series to life! It’s currently open in Midtown at the Manhattan Mall (100 W. 33rd Street).
1. The Decor & Ambiance
From the moment you walk in, you’ll see the large, clear piggy bank filled with stacks of cash. In the experience, you also take a photo in an eerily similar room where competitors begin their Squid Game journey in the show. From the Pink Guards roaming around to the decor of specific spaces and even a room with bloody walls and bunk beds, so much of the show is evoked throughout the experience!
2. Red Light Green Light is alive and well
Everyone’s favorite Young-hee doll is back in Season 2, and “Red Light, Green Light” is also a game in the experience. It’s just as fun and heart-pounding in person! There is also Young-hee merch available for fans too!
3. You Go Down With Your Group In Team Games
Like the show, there are single games and games where you have to compete as a whole team. If the team loses, so do you. Get your crew ready to strategize during the game “Battleships.” While this game isn’t in either Squid Game season, if your team loses, you go down with the ship.
4. A Dalgona, Mingle, Marbles Mashup
Marbles is a game where you will need to look out for yourself as you compete in a group of about 4-5 ppl. This team game where your competitiveness switches is an homage to Season 1. Ironically, as you enter the space in the marble you think you will be playing the Dalgona Cookie game but it’s switched on you. The feeling is reminiscent of the S2 game when the game switches to Mingle for competitors!
5. Our Briefcase Boo
If you’ve seen Season 2, you ultimately know the fate of the recruiter. Walking around the experience (before the games), you will see a dapper man in a suit who might challenge you to the children’s paper game Ddakji! If you flip his paper tiles over with yours, then you win. The recruiter at the experience is far more level-headed and approachable than the one in the show (and no slaps are traded!).
6. Twists When You Least Expect It
We’re not going to ruin it, but just like Squid Game, the show is known for twists and turns, and the experience has an interesting twist at the end. It’s always about strategy and strength, but it’s also a game of chance and luck. At the experience, this rings true!
There’s also so much else to the experience, such as a stellar Squid Mart with Korean snacks, exclusive Squid Game merch, and so much more! There’s also a small arcade and bar area with themed drinks.
