A massive indoor soccer facility is coming to FiDi
Socceroof is bringing another massive indoor sports facility to NYC. The company already has a few other locations around the city including in Crown Heights, Sunset Park and Long Island City, but this will be its first Manhattan spot.
This indoor soccer facility will be at the Financial District’s landmarked office tower, 28 Liberty Street, within a whopping 20,000-square-foot space.
RECOMMENDED: Rockefeller Center will screen the Paris Olympics
Socceroof, which provides professional and amateur athletes of all ages with high-end facilities, will feature several five-sided indoor soccer fields that’ll host classes, games for recreational soccer leagues and more.
Fosun Hive, co-founded by Jean-David Tartour and Jerome Meary in 2018, announced Socceroofs’ lease with 28 Liberty saying that there is “incredible demand for access to quality soccer facilities in New York City, which is why we are pleased to open Socceroof’s first Manhattan location.”
It will be on the same floor as Court 16, a 13,000-square-foot pickleball and tennis club, so if footie isn’t your thing just try next door!
Although it’s still summer, tickets to the Christmas Spectacular are now on sale
This is probably not what you want to hear on a beautiful summer Friday but, alas, we’re here to deliver the news: tickets to the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes are officially on sale right here.
As usual, the iconic seasonal production will take over Radio City Music Hall, this year between November 8 and January 5, 2025.
Whether you are wont to catch the legendary show as an annual holiday tradition or are looking into seeing it for the first time, we’d like to remind you that the Rockettes actually deserve all the hype.
The nine numbers they put on throughout their shows are actually, well, spectacular. We’d be remiss not to specifically call out the “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,” which now also features innovative technology and digital projections that make the whole thing that much more special.
The production’s newest number, dubbed “Dance of the Frost Fairies” and first introduced in 2022, is also worthy of mention. “The Rockettes perform alongside Frost Fairy drones that magically fly above the audience, turning Radio City into a winter wonderland,” reads an official press release.
Clearly, there’s a reason why the Christmas Spectacular has been mounted every year at Radio City since 1933.
One more thing, before we let you go back to enjoying the summer: before attending a Rockettes show, you might want to learn all about their secrets right here.
You can take a five-minute helicopter ride to LaGuardia Airport for the U.S. Open
Public transit can be a pain in the butt, so why not take a helicopter about it?
BLADE, the helicopter company that also transports New Yorkers to the Hamptons among other locales, is partnering with Equinox Hotel New York to take folks from Hudson Yards to the U.S. Open in Queens with a five-minute helicopter ride and an airport transfer.

It begins with a short walk from the luxury hotel’s BLADE Lounge West to the helicopter pad. The five-minute ride ends at LaGuardia Airport, where you are then picked up in an SUV to be driven to the VIP entrance of the U.S. Open.
Despite booking the helicopter to avoid traffic, you’ll still drive for about at least 15 minutes from LGA to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park.
Booking a seat starts at $425 (a little less than the cost of a plane ticket to Paris to see the Olympics). Booking a charter is listed at $2,450.
The ride is also available as part of the “Play Like a Pro package” that includes a one-night stay at Equinox between August 27 and September 11 and the BLADE helicopter transfer between Equinox Hotel and the U.S. Open. The package also includes a $100 food and beverage credit and complimentary valet parking for one vehicle. The package starts at $4,195 plus tax.
For everyone else, taking the 7 train out to Flushing Meadows–Corona Park is $2.90.
