Now that dispensaries are officially open here in NYC, this year’s lineup of 4/20 events, parties, and pop-ups are already starting to get announced! From rolling paper collaborations to specific munchie deals, NYC brands and businesses are going all out for the unofficial holiday. Get ready to keep your buzz on and check out one of these happenings next week.
1. The House of Cannabis
Brand new to NYC’s immersive experience scene is House of Cannabis, the first-ever immersive experience focused on the sights, scents, sounds, and stories of cannabis! Taking up 3 different floors divided into themes of “The Culture,” “The Agriculture,” and “The Ascension,” you’ll be greeted to mind-blowing audio/visual environments. Take a 10-minute hypnotic journey within a fully immersive LED wrapped space and even partake in a one-of-a-kind cannabis aromatic experience…there’s so much to do! 2. Friends NYC Annual 4/20 Party
Friends NYC, a Brooklyn-based lifestyle brand is hosting their Annual 420 Event this year at their flagship store! To celebrate the holiday, they’ve partnered with Dad Grass, CANN, and Union Square Travel Agency to offer free goodies to shoppers along with a 20% discount on Friends NYC products. Stop in and check out all their colorful products including vibrant ash trays and one-of-a-kind rolling papers.

3. Weeding Out The Stoned
Weeding Out The Stoned is coming to Jersey City on 4/20! This live comedy game show sees a pack of comedians enter the stage stoned…except for one! With the help of the audience, host and “detective” Alex Grubard try to sniff out the comics who are high and find the remaining sober jokester! Special guests include Jim Tews, Dan Friggolette, Joe Gorman, Amanda Gail, Justin Williams, and Lauren Leroux! Learn more about the event here.

4. 4/20 DJ Sets at Superior Ingredients
Get ready for the sounds of Jamaica to come to Brooklyn! To celebrate 420, Superior Ingredients will be welcoming dancehall star Sister Nancy to perform her most illustrious hits. Iconic NYC DJs Statik Selectah (worked with Nas, Q-Tip and more) and DJ Gravy will also be spinning on the 1s and 2s to keep the party going all night long!

5. NYC Cannabis Parade
Although it’s not technically happening on 4/20, the 50th annual NYC Cannabis Parade is happening this year on May 6! Starting at 12:30 pm, there will be a march from 33rd St down Broadway to Union Square Park. Then, there will be a rally afterwards! The NYC Cannabis parade is an annual tradition that celebrates and acknowledges the work of cannabis activists and advocates around the world. Learn more about the parade here.

6. Sackville Pop-Up at The Standard’s Roller Rink
The Standard High Line recently just launched their new 1960s-inspired roller rink, and there will be an additional 4/20 event happening alongside it too! Stop in on that Thursday to check out a collaborative pop-up with Sackville, a contemporary lifestyle brand designed by women who like to smoke weed. They’ll have merch for sale, free swag, and a free gift bag (rolling papers, lighter, 20% of meal at Standard Grill) for the first 50 people!

7. Sesh in the Park
Stop by Washington Square Park on 4/20 from 4 pm – 8 pm and you’ll find an event from VIBES, a premium line of rolling papers by rapper Berner! In collaboration with Scarr’s Pizza and Smashed Burger NYC, there will be plenty of merchandise and munchies to go around, including a limited-time menu item the Pizzaburger (a SMASHED burger with Scarr’s pizza for buns). There will also be a 4/20 Pizza Pack for sale, which includes custom Scarr’s and SMASHED booklets to commemorate the day. Learn more here.

Free Picnic Performances will return to Bryant Park this summer
Summer nights, after work or a day out, will once again be alive with music and dance thanks to Bryant Park Picnic Performances presented by Bank of America.
Starting in June, the Picnic Performances will bring the best of NYC to the stage, including the New York City Opera, Jalopy Theatre, Carnegie Hall, the Classical Theatre of Harlem and the American Symphony Orchestra.
RECOMMENDED: A massive spring market will be open for shopping at Bryant Park
Best of all, all 26 performances are free and open to the public! On these days, picnicking at Bryant Park will include a show.
“Thanks to Bank of America’s support, Picnic Performances has become an established venue for major cultural events,” said Bryant Park Corporation’s President Dan Biederman. “There is no easier way to experience NYC’s extraordinary music, theater, and dance: just come to Bryant Park, grab a free blanket or chair, and enjoy.”

These Picnic Performances have become popular, so much so that last year, 75,000 people attended and nearly half a million watched online.
