NYC’s Latest Omakase Restaurant Is Tucked Away In A Fine Jewelry Vault
Just in time for New York to rank as the most bougie state in America, a new omakase restaurant has opened up in NYC. And while we already feel bougie to begin with when indulging in the “I’ll leave it up to you” dining experience, things have gotten, well, bougier.
Hoseki is a 6-seat omakase restaurant tucked away in The Vault on the subterranean fine jewelry floor of Saks Fifth Ave. Thus, ’tis a fitting name for the establishment, considering Hoseki is Japanese for “jewel.”
Among showcases filled with glistening watches and glittering fine jewelry, Chef Daniel Kim helms the intimate sushi counter, serving guests a deliciously curated 12-course omakase. The meal consists of pieces like Hokkaido Uni, seared Goldeneye, and Sea Bream with yuzu and truffle salt.
And though you may be thinking an experience in a location like this must come with a hefty price tag, the meal is surprisingly priced at $95.
Hoseki is the brainchild of Maxwell Weiss who is no stranger to pushing the sushi boundaries. Weiss and Kim are also the ones behind Ten Homakase, an in-home omakase service which has served thousands of guests in seven states.
Hoseki is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations can be made here.
611 Fifth Ave.
