Action Bronson Crowned This Woodside Burger Among The ‘Top Five On Earth’
Rapper, TV show host, and Queens native Action Bronson’s food documentary series title is something we find ourselves saying quite often when eating around NYC–”F*ck, That’s Delicious.” And on a recent trip to Woodside, he was saying that very same thing.
Bronson paid Woodside’s Irish-American institution Donovan’s a visit on a recent episode of “F*ck, That’s Delicious” as part of his journey to uncover NYC’s best pub burgers, and he wound up crowning one of the burgers among the top five on Earth! Bronson stated:
In the Iron Triangle, as I like to call it, we have Donovan’s Pub, which lays claim to be the best burger in Queens. You would look at it and you see the sign on the side and you’d be like ‘nah this is some bullsh*t’ but no, this is world class eating. The burger here, it’s in the top five on Earth right now. Trust me, this menu right here is the origin of alternative burgers.
On his visit, Bronson sampled four burgers: the Classic Cheeseburger, with the cheese melted on the bun rather than on the patty in a nod to the old school diner style, the Santo Burger, with mozzarella and marinara sauce, the Jack Burger, with sautéed onions, jalapeños, Pepper Jack cheese, and chipotle mayo, and the Texas Red, with homemade chili, jalapeños, and cheddar. All were cooked medium rare.

All four burgers received stellar reviews, with Bronson joking about gatekeeping the spot, saying, “Turn the camera off. We’re not telling anybody cuz we wanna keep this sh*t to ourselves.” Of the classic cheeseburger, he mentions that it’s one of the best bites on Earth, adding, “That’s truly a tremendous bite of food in the simplest form…I’m proud to be from Queens when I taste that.”
The Texas Red has “the right amount of everything on there” and the Santo Burger is “unreal,” according to Bronson. As for his favorite, that was the Jack Burger. He said, “The onion and jalapeño burger is my favorite by far, by far. That sh*t is incredible…The normal cheeseburger is crack, but I always look for a little extra.”
After also praising the establishment for their sides, which included sweet potato fries, thick-cut steak fries, salad, and onion rings, Bronson rated the overall experience a 10. He stated:
This is everything you can expect from Queens. You have cozy faces, happy, ready to really take care of you in the way that you need to be. Make them feel at home, make them feel good, old timey service, you know what I mean? And sick ass food…And the phenomenal merch line.
Oh, and don’t forget, there’s real wood burning fireplaces as well! Delicious burgers, great service, and cozy fireplaces; what more could you ask for on a chilly winter night?! Overall, Bronson said Donovan’s represents the very best of Queens. You can watch the full clip below:
