A Massive 220,000-Square-Foot+ Film Studio Will Open In LIC This Spring
Queens is no stranger to film production—the borough is home to both Astoria Kaufman Studios and Silvercup Studios–and Wildflower Studios and East End Studios will soon be added to the list, but the borough isn’t stopping there!
The borough’s latest film studio, Borden Studios, is set to open this spring in Long Island City.
Borden Studios will occupy the upper floors of a five-story development at 23-30 Borden Avenue.
Taking up about 54,000 of the total 220,000-square-feet-worth of space will be four sound stages ranging from 11,800 to 16,200 square feet. The sound stages will feature 40-foot ceilings and fully retractable walls, allowing for the stages to be transformed into two double sized spaces.
Production offices and mill space will be situated next to the sound stages, with executive suites and flex space on the upper floor.
Borden Studios is developed by Innovo Property Group and operated by The MBS Group. Beyond the studio the complex will also consist of warehouse space, offices, support space, and more than 8,800-square-feet-worth of outdoor space, including a private, rooftop terrace and a multistory attached parking structure.
