Here’s When NYC Will See Its Next Snow—P.S. It May Be Sooner Than You Think

After a rather dry (but very cold) winter thus far, everyone in New York is wondering when they’ll see snow again. And though today’s forecast reads sunny and breezy, the same can’t be said for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the weekend will likely bring steady rain, beginning Saturday afternoon through Sunday. However, Sunday’s precipitation may bring a chance of snow along with rain droplets. This would mean NYC’s next snow may be in just four days!

NWS estimates a chance of snow after 1pm on Sunday and through the night. It will be partly sunny with a high in the 40s. Come MLK Day on Monday, the weather will clear up and prove mostly sunny skies for the holiday, but with frigid temperatures with a high of 28°F. Monday night temperatures could drop as low as 14°F.

If snow does fall on Sunday and you’re in need of plans, why not explore one of NYC’s world-famous museums? There are plenty of incredible exhibits now on view.
