The Met Museum And Other Iconic NYC Venues Have Turned Into Voting Centers
With the November 5th Election Day right around the corner next week, and early voting still happening now…many of NYC’s most iconic attractions have opened their doors for voting in 2024.
Many of the city’s cultural sites like museums and concert venues have hoisted their doors open for early voters, including The Met, The Brooklyn Museum, and so many more.
This comes after NYC saw a record-breaking turnout of early voters when it opened up last week.
Can anyone vote at these NYC institutions?

So, if you’d like to make your voting experience an iconic one, then these are some of the landmarks that you’ll be able to vote at this year:
1. The Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is no stranger to becoming a polling place, as they welcomed voters back in 2021 during the mayoral election. The iconic art institution is hosting early voting now, so you can make your voice heard and take a photo on the iconic steps.

2. Brooklyn Museum
The lobby of the Brooklyn Museum is welcoming early voters now, once again marking itself as one of the coolest spots in Brooklyn to vote this year. They were also a voting center during the 2020 presidential election as well!
Where: 200 Eastern Pkwy, Brooklyn
3. American Museum of Natural History
Brand new as a voting center in 2024, the American Museum of Natural History is welcoming voters for certain electoral disctricts of Manhattan! They’re allow early voters to come cast their ballot through November 3, and those doing so to enter the museum through the Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation.
Where: Entrance at 415 Columbus Avenue
4. Lincoln Center
Not only is Lincoln Center a voting location once again here in 2024, but it’s home again to Play for the Vote, where Met Orchestra violinist Sara Crocker Vonsattel will perform at the David Rubenstein Atrium polling center at Lincoln Center between 9 – 10 am on Election Day, November 5.

5. Queens Botanical Garden
The Queens Botanical Garden is probably the green-est place you can cast your vote this year, as they’re welcoming early voters now through the weekend.
Where: 43-50 Main St, Queens
6. The Shed
Stop by The Shed if you’re on the west side, since they’re welcoming New Yorkers to come cast their ballot under the incredibly architectured roof.
Where: 545 W 30th St
7. Museum of the Moving Image
The Museum of the Moving Image is officially open for early voting now, and why not stick around afterwards and catch a screening in their state-of-the-art theater? Perfect little voting + movie solo date!
