Meatpacking District To Go Car-Free For Annual ‘Treats In The Streets’

Ahead of NYC’s Village Halloween Parade, New Yorkers can check out the Meatpacking District for a day full of festivities during its Treats in the Streets programming on Saturday, October 19th.

The annual event will bring a Doggie Costume Contest, pumpkin decorating, live music and more to the streets of the Meatpacking District. All programming will be free and open to the public. Participating streets will be closed off to car traffic during the event hours.

  • 🎵 11 am – 6 pm: Live performances from Jammcard artists

Little West 12th Street

  • 👻 11 am – 6 pm: Halloween vignettes designed by Theresa Rivera
  • 🪴 11:30 am – 12 pm: The Old Yew Plant Shop Workshop

Washington Street 

  • 🐦‍⬛ 11 am – 6 pm: Custom-designed scarecrows crafted by Theresa Rivera

West 13th Street 

  • 🎃 11 am – 5 pm: Pumpkin painting
  • 👺 11 am – 5 pm:  Decorate Halloween masks with artist Lauren Weinstein
  • 📖 12 pm – 12:15 pm: The Culture Tree Storytime Reading of Elephant and 5 Blind Men
  • 🌳 12 pm – 2 pm: The Culture Tree Art Activity
  • 🐘 12:45 pm – 1 pm:  The Culture Tree Storytime Reading of Lai-Lai the Baby Elephant
  • 🏺 1 pm – 4 pm:  Clayscape Creation with Greenwich House Pottery
