The Worst U.S. City For A Good Night’s Sleep Has Been Revealed & It’s Not The City That Never Sleeps

You may have thought New York was the city that never sleeps, what with its late night museum hours and 24/hour food options, but late nights don’t have to mean worse sleep is what we’re understanding from a new study on the worst U.S. cities for a good night’s sleep.

According to fungi retailer, Pure CBD Now, Miamians are getting the worst sleep in America. Following closely behind is Boston, and then there’s New York City as the third worst U.S. city for sleep.

Sourcing data from ArcGIS, the study analyzed fifty of the most populated cities in the nation and their average noise levels. This includes traffic and aviation noise. From there, Pure CBD Now organized the results from the highest average decibel ranking to the lowest (24-hrLAeq). Believe it or not, Miami proved to be noisier than New York City with a mean dBA of 52.31. Boston’s average came to 49.28 and New York City’s was 48.93.

The top 10 worst U.S. cities for sleep:

  1. Miami, FL
  2. Boston, MA
  3. New York, NY
  4. Chicago, IL
  5. Louisville/Jefferson County, KY
  6. Denver, CO
  7. San Francisco, CA
  8. Minneapolis, MN
  9. Long Beach, CA
  10. Oakland, CA

Inversely, Pure CBD Now also determined the best U.S. cities to get a good night’s sleep. Coming in at number one for the best U.S. city for sleep is Virginia Beach. Right after that comes Bakersfield and Oklahoma City.
