Veselka To Finally Return To 24/7 Service

The days for around the clock perogis are on the horizon again as Veselka announced the restaurant will return to 24/7 service at the East Village location come summertime, reports EV Grieve.

According to what the owner, Jason Birchard, told the outlet, 24/7 service will first begin on weekends. Yet, come summertime, Veselka intends to be open for around the clock service daily.

“I think it’ll be just a Friday and Saturday to start,” Birchard told EV Grieve. “And then work into like we did initially back in 1990 just to get our feet wet again. So, yes! It is coming. I think we’re aiming for June 1, but maybe sooner.”

Veselka originally put a halt to their 24/7 service during the pandemic. Even once things started to look up in 2022, 24/7 service still wasn’t feasible due to insufficient staff.

However, in the time since the pandemic, Veselka has been working on two new NYC locations: Grand Central (which is now open) and Williamsburg (coming soon).

Current hours for the original Ukrainian neighborhood staple in the East village are from 8am to midnight. So cross your fingers and hope that by June we’ll get those eight extra hours of perogi time!
