NYC May See A High Of 60 Degrees This Week

This winter has been quite unusual.

We experienced unseasonably warm weather in December, months of false alarms of snowstorms followed by two snowstorms in one week in February, and more that we could barely keep track of!

To keep up the momentum of strange weather trends, NYC has some weather that may excite you this week as we head into March.

New Yorkers can finally enjoy some relief from the freezing cold weather that has persisted for the past few weeks.

As we count down the final 22 days of winter, this week aims to give New York a short taste of Spring.

On Monday, the temperature is expected to reach a high of 54 degrees in NYC, providing an excellent opportunity for a stroll in the park.

The following days will be even warmer, with Tuesday and Wednesday expected to reach 53 and 60 degrees, respectively! Unfortunately, both days are expected to bring rain to the city, with remnants trickling over into Thursday.

According to NBC New York, temperatures will take a dip into the 40s on Thursday and Friday, giving us a beautiful weekend to look forward to. Saturday is expected to have a high of 54 degrees, and Sunday, a high of 58 degrees!

The slight taste of Spring comes almost a month after Groundhog Day when Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, predicting an early spring.

This week is the perfect week to indulge in some pre-Spring activities! Nothing says Spring like flowers. You can head to The Bronx for the annual NYBG Orchid Show or hit the streets to seek out early glimpses of this year’s cherry blossoms!
