NYC Just Opened Its First Self-Serve Udon Restaurant
Following the opening of SoHo’s funky conveyor belt sushi spot, comes the city’s first ever self-serve udon restaurant, Sanuki Udon. Proudly serving udon noodles, rice bowls, and crunchy tempura, Sanuki Udon imports fresh ingredients directly from Japan to serve the highest quality meals.
Customers are able to serve themselves by following along the cafeteria-style assembly line. Not only does this allow diners to customize their orders, but it makes for an easy and more efficient way to grab a quick bite when you’ve only got a little time to eat.
Udon prices start as low as $6.95. The noodles are made in-house every day from wheat flour. Customers can add to their plain udon by opting for various proteins or toppings. The menu ranges from vegetarian udon options to Pork Cutlet Curry Udon and so much more! As for tempura, you can choose between eggplant, shrimp, sweet potato balls, mochi, fish cakes, soft boiled eggs, and so on. Prices for tempura begin at $1.95—definitely a budget friendly option in New York City!

Sanuki Udon’s soft opening hours are currently listed on their website from 11am-7pm. You can find the spot just a stone’s throw away from Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village at 31 W 4th St.
