Queens Launches The Ultimate Contest To Determine The Best Bagel In The Borough
The age old question of who serves the best bagel in NYC is getting a bit more official with an actual contest being held by the Queens Chamber of Commerce “Best Bagel Competition.”
Want to ensure your favorite Queens bagel spot makes the cut? You can send in your nominations up until Friday, January 26th.
“Bagels aren’t just breakfast; they’re a daily dose of connection for people as they make a quick stop at their favorite restaurants and bodegas. Whether you like them plain or with everything, smeared with butter or cream cheese, Queens offers some of the best of the doughy delights in the city,” said Tom Grech, President and CEO of the Queens Chamber of Commerce. “I am proud to announce our Queens’ Best Bagel Competition and I can’t wait to try some at the winning establishment next month!”
People can cast their votes between the nominated establishments from January 29th through February 7th. All of the excitement will lead up to the official winner being announced on Friday, February 9th, better known as National Bagel and Lox Day.
Beyond bragging rights and the title of Queens’ best bagel, the first place winner will receive a plaque along with a free membership to the Queens Chamber of Commerce. Don’t worry—second and third place winners will also get some recognition by receiving a special certificate.
