NYC’s Swanky New Cocktail Bar Is An Ode To The Mad Men Era
Where would the advertising moguls of Madison Avenue in the 1960s grab a drink in modern day? Agency of Record! This swanky new restaurant and cocktail bar located inside the Renwick Hotel in Midtown offers up an old-school, 1950s-60s panache. Legend has it F. Scott Fitzgerald and John Steinbeck used to frequent the same hotel back in the their time.
Hailing from 27 Tales Hospitality, the group is known for numerous iconic NYC establishments from Patent Pending to Rezdôra. Agency of Record will officially open to the public on Friday, November 10th.
Chef Edward Carew ensures the menu has the perfect blend between shareable dishes, filling entrées, and tasty treats. If you’re hungry, you’ll want to sink your teeth into the French Onion Burger or the Japanese Karaage-Style Fried Chicken. Feeling just a bit peckish? Indulge in the Duck Fat Fries or East Coast Oysters.
As for their cocktails, the curated selection is categorized into four separate sections inspired by advertising terminology. Those include Like Soda for a Baby (vivid and bright), The Big Sell (for the perfect buzz), From a Far Away Land (tropical twists), and Everyone is Doing It (party drinks). Order the Sex Sells with Japanese vodka, vanilla, passionfruit, orgeat, and lemon or sip on the The Four Ps with Venezuelan, Jamaican, Mexican, Haitian rums, pistachio, almond, turmeric, and lemon.
The seductive space incorporates mahogany tones, leather accents, and dark wood and brass. There’s even a private dining room available for booking that comes complete with a private bartender and a vintage martini cart.
